Basilique Fourvière
The Basilica of Fourvière is one of the most picturesque sites in France. The basilica houses a wonderful collection of 19th-century Byzantine art and is set majestically atop Fourvière Hill.

Cathédrale St. Jean
At the foot of Fourvière Hill sits St. Jean Cathedral, one of the most beautiful cathedrals in France. Built between the 12th and 15th centuries, on the site of a 5th century church, St-Jean Cathedral is a wonder of architecture.

Musée des Beaux Arts
In a former Abbey is housed the Museum of Fine Arts which is rated among most famous museums in France. Regarded as "Little Louvre," the museum displays art and artifacts from ancient times up to the present day.

Musée des Tissus
In a beautiful 17th century mansion lies the home of the Musée des Tissus or the Textiles Museum. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Lyon.

Lumières
Every December Lyon presents "Lumières" or a festival of lights. Illuminations throughout the city: façades, squares, gardens and other public areas will be transformed by light to offer unique displays.

The International Puppet Museum displays hand puppets, stick puppets, marionette puppets and sliding bar puppets originating from around the world.

National Opera House
The 300-year old glass dome has become a landmark in the city of Lyon. It is home to the Lyon Opera Ballet company as well as the world renowned Opera House Orchestra. The acoustics are so good that it currently makes more recordings than any other French opera house.
